Xylella spp

Craigmarloch Nurseries Ltd's procurement policy in relation to Xylella spp.

Since the time when the bacteria Xylella was first identified as a serious threat to some
varieties of nursery stock, Craigmarloch Nurseries Ltd together with the Scottish and UK
plant health service have worked to avoid it's accidental introduction and to maintain
rigorous standards of plant health.

Upon currently available information from DEFRA, APHA, HTA and other sources globally,
Craigmarloch Nurseries Ltd will not knowing procure any stock directly from or originating in
an area that has had a confirmed outbreak of Xylella spp.

Currently the areas included in Craigmarloch Nurseries Ltd's procurement exclusion are:

  • Italy - all southern regions
  • Spain - all regions
  • France - Provence Alpes Coted' Azur, Corsica
  • Principality of Monaco - all regions
  • Germany - Saxony and Thuringia
  • Czech Republic - all regions
  • Switzerland - all regions

Craigmarloch has regular plant health reviews by our local plant health officer who reviews
all Craigmarloch Nurseries stock. Craigmarloch have also strictly forbidden all purchases
from any region in Europe where there has been an outbreak.

Craigmarloch will regularly review the legislation and therefore this statement is subject to
amendment if deemed appropriate in the light of further information or legislation.
